about

Another of Gayle’s attempts to rewrite the Byrds’ “Mind Gardens” (cf “Phase Shift” on “Journey” and later “Helioscope” on a Pefkin solo album). This was the first song we mixed after the purchase of two Joe Meek compressors and they were pushed to the limit on this. So much compression, it could stop a Shire horse in its tracks. This was issued on a split single by Wurlitzer Jukebox / Earworm called “United in the Hatred of …”. Who this referred to is lost in the mists of time … we can supply plenty of suggestions of our own!

about

Electroscope Glasgow, UK

Following a decade recording solo as Pefkin and Phosphene, Gayle Brogan and John Cavanagh are back playing pin matrix games for May, combining the sounds of a VCS3 synthesizer, a 1950s radio microphone and vortex of vocals.
