about

We were invited to cover a Syd Barrett song for “Asyd Vinyl”, a compilation on Norway’s Krank label. We tried a couple of things without success, then John took a sudden notion to do “Rats”. The pairing of wayward Moog Satellite and Gayle’s stylophone solo at the end was inspired. We played this as Phosphene at the Panopticon Music Hall and completely forgot to check that both instruments were in tune with each other. It was, er, interesting!

about

Electroscope Glasgow, UK

Following a decade recording solo as Pefkin and Phosphene, Gayle Brogan and John Cavanagh are back playing pin matrix games for May, combining the sounds of a VCS3 synthesizer, a 1950s radio microphone and vortex of vocals.
