about

We wanted to issue an EP of Geoff Goddard songs so we wrote to Geoff to ask him if he’d like to be involved, even by writing a sleevenote. Geoff didn’t write back, then we heard that Geoff had died. What was intended as a celebration of his amazing songs became a posthumous 7” with the Castaway Stones’ take on “My Friend Bobby” on the flipside. On “Sky Men”, Drew Mulholland plays Russian death machine and “Astronomy Domine” is gleefully plundered yet again. The Sky Man on the cover is Gayle’s papa, a WW2 test pilot, looking very stylish in the cockpit.

Electroscope Glasgow, UK

Following a decade recording solo as Pefkin and Phosphene, Gayle Brogan and John Cavanagh are back playing pin matrix games for May, combining the sounds of a VCS3 synthesizer, a 1950s radio microphone and vortex of vocals.
